Samuli Saarinen's illustrations were given a silver award at the European Design Awards.
3rd year graphic design student Samuli Saarinen was awarded in the Book & Editorial Illustration category. The award was given for the illustrations in the book ‘Designkuplia’ published by Aalto ARTS Books and written by Hannu Pöppönen.
The book ‘Designkuplia’ deals with upheaval in Finnish design. At the same time that retro products and re-decorated classics fill the shop shelves, design has become immaterial. Design is a major element in services, user interfaces and games. The book examines design changes and the possibilities they bring.
Anssi Räisänen from Aalto University also made it to the finals.
