24.01.2014
Lauri Salminen, student of architecture, and Antti Ahlava, professor in architecture, have won a third prize in a housing villa competition in Katara Hills, Doha, Qatar.
The competition was arranged by Aspire Katara Investment Company.
This design, “Rousku Villas” is based on an imaginative use of wooden structures. The name refers to the Finnish, organic floor of a forest, which the entry is imitating spatially. The local housing preferences in Qatar had to be taken into account in the competition.
The organizer of the competition has announced to build Rousku Villas.
