Väre wins Aalto University’s Campus 2015 architectural design competition

National and international recognition for Yrjö Sotamaa
06.09.2013 Professor Yrjö Sotamaa from the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture has been awarded for his life's work on behalf of Finnish design. Sotamaa has also received recognition for developing the Shanghai Design Week.
Leonardo da Vinci World Award of Arts 2013 to Petteri Nisunen and Tommi Grönlund
18.06.2013 Petteri Nisunen and Tommi Grönlund have been granted a prestigious international art award by the World Cultural Council in recognition of their work with modern art, their interdisciplinary artistic approach and their views of synthesis.
Satu Maaranen wins first prize at Hyères Fashion Festival competition
29.04.2013 Master of Arts Satu Maaranen, who graduated from the Department of Design of the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, in Finland, has won the Grand Prix at the Hyères Fashion Festival with her collection for women. The prize is worth EUR 15 000. The inspiration for Maaranen's Garment in Landscape collection was landscape and its artistic interpretation. In addition, the prize includes EUR 3 000 from the Ra concept store and a collection to be produced in cooperation with Petit Bateau. The top fashion houses are interested in Maaranen and her collection.
Jussi Lehtomäki wins best student price with film Out into the woods at Tampere Film Festival
11.03.2013 Jussi Lehtomäki won the best student price with his documentary film Aamulla viemme lapset metsään (Out into the Woods) (ELO, 2012) at the Tampere Film Festival which was held on 6 - 10 March 2013 in Tampere, Finland. Out into the Woods takes the audience into the middle of a storytelling moment, and sends the viewer on a journey into the dark woods.
Sophie Sälekari & Hanna-Maaria Sinkkonen get second place in Designer's Nest competition

ELO wipes the board at Tampere’s National Competition
