MORE INFORMATION:

Live audience interaction can enhance event experience, productivity and impact. Technology aided audience interaction has a long history. Most of us has been playing for example with voting gadgets. Modern smartphones, tablets, wireless networks and digital projectors open up completely new possibilities for audience interaction. These conventional digital systems enable more complex live audience interaction patterns and combinations of different interactions approaches. With conventional digital systems producing live audience interaction is faster, cheaper and more practical.

For his thesis, Kuikkaniemi has been researching and developing various live audience interaction production from rock concerts and audience gaming to lectures, workshops and seminars. The core deliverable of his thesis research is a design framework for live audience interaction control named as LAIX-score. This design framework is developed for supporting different kinds of live audience interaction patterns, functions and role arrangements.

A software platform for live audience interaction has been developed parallel to the thesis research. For Aalto and University of Helsinki students and teachers this software system is better known as Presemo. Presemo is used also for conducting various kinds of audience interaction studies in Aalto.
